History

 

It was in June 1968 when Mrs. Encarnacion Manait, the Principal of San Antonio Elementary School initiated the establishment of SAN ANTONIO BARANGAY HIGH SCHOOL, with full support of the Barangay Council headed by Brgy. Capt. Benigno Celzo. The first two teachers were Ms. Francia Felizmenio and Mrs. Purita  Abelardo. But due to a reason or another, it was temporarily closed a year later. It was also in 1993, when it was re-established through the effort of Atty. Simeon F. Adan, the Schools Division Superintendent with the help of Mayor Andre R. Hidalgo, Brgy. Capt. Benigno Celzo, Kgd. Lucia Verdadero, and Division Supervisor Romulo Terrobias. The first site was in San Antonio Elementary School, then moved to San Antonio Public Market. The TIC then was Mr. Juanito Santo Tomas, a Teacher III from Milaor High School and Ms. Francia Sabales, Teacher I, with 50 students each.

 

In 1994, due to rapid increase in enrolment the DECS, Division of Camarines Sur under the edministration of Atty. Simeon F. Adanand the Municipal Government of Milaor headed by Mayoy Andre costructed thru the effort of congressman Celso O. Baguio. Four newly hired teachers from Milaor were assigned to equip the needs of strong teaching force. Mrs. Angelina V. Ibarreta, the Teacher-In-Charge of Gainza High School for almost 10 years and a native of San Antonio, Milaor, Camarines Sur was assign by Atty. Simeon F. Adanto be a school head. Another great development was the approval of House bill No.6643 by the House of Representatives. "AN ACT ESTABLISHING A PUBLIC SECONDARY SCHOOL THE SAN ANTONIO NATIONAL AND APPROATING FUNDS THEREFORE". The above mentioned school was created under Republic Act no. 7811 per letter of senator Leticia ramos Shahani and it was approaved by President Fidel V. Ramos on October 26, 1994 sponsored by congressman Celso O. Baguio with the full support of Atty. Simeon F. Adan and the Municapal councel headed by Mayor Andre R. Hidalgo.

 

In 1995, additional two male teachers have sent to SANHS and the enrolles then reached to 330. The Multi-purpose Bldg. was constructed through congressman  Celso O. Baguio under PTA President Angel B. Ingles. The Ramos Building was constructed under PTA President Salvador Robano's term and an extension of one classroom as their PTA project for S/Y1994-'95. Then In 1996 another two female teachers were accommodated.

 

In February 1997, the national government approved the additional four teachers that took effect on July 15, 1997 approated for newly legislated high schools for the FY 1997 under R.A. 8250.For this reason, the four Milaor HS teachers were return to their original station and hired new ones. Moreover, the allocated fund for the school provided in the General Appropriation Act for CY 1996 was originally released.

 

In Januay 15, 1999, another two teachers were hired, one of each was assigned asPEHM teacher and the other one was detaild at office of the schools Division Superintendent.

 

From January 2005, to November 2009, Mr. EdmundoB. Aladano was the school Principal, 2 teachers were hired, 2 additional classrooms were constructed and he contributed much in Beautifying the school by planing more trees.

 

In December 1, 2009, a new pricipal: Mrs. Maria Helena N. Labrador was assign by Superintendent Emma I. Cornejo until May 2012

By July 18, 2012,  Mr. Jaime A Macatangay Jr. was assign as the new  principal. His vision is that the school be at par if not better than the best school in the province in term of facilities, equipments and teachers and other personnel. The increase in NAT result is his main concern.

The Municipal Moyor Honorable Roelgelio A. Flores continued to extended his full support to DepEd by giving full scholarship to the students from the towm of Milaor and he is also the school's major stakeholder.
